Description :
Person who takes responsibility for a variety of nursing services according to the bio-psycho-social needs of the patients or groups of people under her/his care. Assesses the health status of patients, determines and ensures the implementation of nursing treatment and care plans. Provides nursing and medical care and treatments with a view to maintaining or restoring health and preventing disease.

Plans, delivers and assesses teaching for patients, their relatives or close friends and groups of people. In addition, participates in research aimed at promoting health and preventing disease.

Additional Information:

We are currently looking for a nurse to fill a part-time permanent position, Day. This position is dedicated to the intellectual disability team.

The selected candidate will therefore work in the intellectual disability team, but may be required to work in other teams at the Douglas if wanted.

The selected candidate will have to be available for days shifts, as well as one weekend out of two.
Requirements :
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and be a member of the OIIQ;
- Work experience in intellectual disability or psychiatry with adult clients;
- Up-to-date knowledge of the different psychiatric pathologies affecting adult clients;
- Ability to intervene in crisis situations (eg aggression, suicidal risk);
- Knowledge of the principles of interdisciplinary teamwork;
- Ability to establish a therapeutic relationship with a Francophone and Anglophone clientele.
