Description :
We are looking for a biomedical engineer to fill a full-time workload at St-Mary's Hospital..

As an active member of the Information Resources and Biomedical Engineering Division, the successful candidate will work in an environment highly motivated by challenges related to all the institutions and clinical specialties served on our territory.

Under the authority of the head of the GBM Projects Department, this person acts as an expert in medical technologies in the planning, acquisition, evaluation and commissioning of medical equipment. Its interventions are integrated at all levels including preventive and corrective maintenance, quality control and risk management related to the use of medical equipment. It ensures safety, efficiency and compliance with standards. It also participates in management, teaching, research and continuous quality improvement activities, as well as the technological watch in biomedical engineering.

More specifically, the person:
- Conducts studies and analyzes related to biomedical engineering and submits, to right, recommendations,
- Participates in needs analysis and collaborates in the development and updating of the Medical Equipment Retention Plan (CDR),
- Performs feasibility and implementation studies,
- Performs obsolete analyzes,
- Participates in the process of acquisition of medical equipment (assessment and analysis of needs, preparation and drafting of tender specifications, analysis of submissions, analysis of operation and maintenance costs, technical and clinical evaluation, recommendation purchase)
- Participates in the process of implanting the medical equipment (evaluation of the installation prerequisites, ensures that the implementation is done according to the specifications of the equipment, ensures the conformity of the material delivered in correspondence with the order form, s' ensures the installation and start-up of the equipment, ensures that the process of provisional and final acceptance of the equipment is completed),
- Collaborate on the development of plans and specifications for construction and renovation projects with regard to medical equipment,
- Collaborates in the reception, the participation, the motivation, the valorization and the development of the skills of the human resources of the service of the WBG,
- Collaborates on activities related to quality assessment, resource utilization review, risk management and health and safety at work,
- Participate in the development of operational procedures of the WBG service and their application,
- Participates in the assessment of the training and development needs of WBG service staff,
- Participates in the development and / or coordination of certain training programs for clinical staff,
- Collaborate to maintain the medical equipment maintenance file (CMMS),
- Ensures safety when using medical technologies,
- Participates in the electrical safety monitoring program, quality control (performance indicators and medical alerts).
Requirements :
Academic training
- Undergraduate degree in Biomedical Engineering,
- Postgraduate training in biomedical engineering, an asset,
- Minimally 3 years of relevant experience,
(Any combination of training and equivalent experience may be considered)
- Member of the Quebec Order of Engineers,
- Member of the Association of Physicists and Biomedical Engineers of Quebec, an asset.
