Description :
The Montréal West Island Integrated University Health and Social Services Center is seeking a
Human Resources agent to fill a permanent full time.

Under the responsibility of the Head of the Volunteer Resources Department, the Human Resources
agent is responsible for the implementation of a mentoring program for volunteers in order to
ensure the quality of services provided by them. He or she makes sure that the provided services
correspond to the clientele’s needs while respecting the preferences of our volunteers. It is the
Human Resources agent’s responsibility to ensure that these services are in agreement with the
practices provided by Volunteer Canada, the Action bénévole du Québec and the AGRBQ.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Supervise volunteering activities in the Douglas Hopital where he or she holds office;
Implement diversified strategies to recruit volunteers portraying our clientele’s diversity and use
a thorough selection process which respects established standards as well as people’s rights in order to properly cater to them;
Develop and implement a continuous training program for the volunteers, including elements
of safety for both the volunteers and the clients;
Deploy necessary monitoring and evaluation activities to ensure that the volunteers’ services comply
with regulations and cater to the specific needs, for activities organized in the community, for
example;
Assess the organization and clients’ needs for volunteer services on an ongoing basis and develop
new volunteer projects as required;
Undertake periodic program evaluation from the perspective of youth, parents and staff;
Elaborate means of promoting the implication of volunteers and ensure employees from different
backgrounds are familiar with the volunteers’ role and support them in their regular duties;
Develop and implement an acknowledgment program for volunteers in order to support and thank
them for their implication with our clientele;
Act as a liaison with other volunteer organizations in the support of the programs and services:

Perform all other related duties as requested by immediate supervisor.

Requirements :
Undergraduate diploma in administration or another relevant field;
Two (2) years of professional experience in the Health and Social Services Network in a field relevant to the position;
Experience in organizing volunteer services within a closely-related field, considered an asset;
Ability to recruit and interview potential volunteers;
Ability to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships with other volunteer and community organizations;
Good knowledge of the programs and services offered by Batshaw Youth and Family Centres;
Knowledge of the Youth Protection Act considered an asset;
Must be well organized and able to work collaboratively as well as autonomously;
Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills;
Ability to work comfortably in French and English (written and spoken).
Good knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite.
